In 2013, a remarkable milestone was achieved at Rana Hospital, Sirhind, in the historic state of Punjab, India. Using the ancient Ayurvedic Ksharsutra surgical technique, 391 successful surgeries were performed within just 8 hours and 45 minutes, establishing a National Record. At that time, few could have imagined that this extraordinary accomplishment would one day become a symbol of India’s medical excellence on the global stage.

As the years passed, the record remained unbroken.

In 2023, this historic achievement received international recognition when it was officially certified by the World Book of Records. The recognition reaffirmed that India’s ancient Ayurvedic surgical science is not merely a part of history but continues to be an effective, reliable, and scientifically respected system of medicine in the modern era.

The story did not end there.

In 2025, the World Record Union honoured this achievement with the prestigious title of Longest Unbroken Medical Record.” Since its creation in 2013, the record has remained unbeaten, making it a unique and unparalleled milestone in the history of medicine.

This achievement is not merely the personal success of Dr. Hitender Suri. It is the collective result of years of dedicated service by Vishwa Jagriti Mission, especially its Sirhind Branch, along with thousands of selfless volunteers who have devoted themselves to providing compassionate healthcare to society.

For nearly twelve years, Vishwa Jagriti Mission, Sirhind Branch, has continuously organized free eye care camps, piles treatment camps, and artificial limb distribution programmes, benefiting thousands of underprivileged patients. This unwavering commitment to humanitarian service has been the true foundation behind this remarkable world record.

The achievement also reflects India’s growing global vision of promoting its traditional systems of medicine. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, continuous efforts have been made to introduce Ayurveda and India’s ancient medical heritage to the world. Increasing international recognition of Maharishi Sushruta, widely regarded as the Father of Surgery, and the growing global acceptance of Ayurvedic medicine demonstrate this transformation. This world record has become another inspiring chapter in that remarkable journey.

On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima 2026, at Shivdham Ashram, Morni, all three certificates associated with this historic achievement were beautifully framed and formally presented to Dr. Hitender Suri in the divine presence of Param Poojya Acharya Shri Sudhanshu Ji Maharaj.

During the ceremony, the revered Guru praised this extraordinary accomplishment, describing it as a victory of selfless service, dedication, and Indian culture, while blessing Dr. Suri to continue serving humanity with the same commitment and compassion.

Receiving the honour, Dr. Hitender Suri humbly said:

“This honour does not belong to me. It is the result of my revered Guru’s blessings, divine guidance, and inspiration. Without Guruji’s support, it would never have been possible for a small hospital in a small town to create a world record that has remained unbroken for thirteen years. This achievement is not merely a testament to medical excellence but also to the power of Guru’s grace, selfless service, and unwavering faith.”

Today, this achievement belongs not only to Punjab or India but serves as an inspiration for humanity across the world.

It demonstrates that when Guru’s blessings, selfless service, and India’s timeless knowledge tradition come together, history is created—and the world takes notice.

This is not merely a world record. It is an enduring symbol of India’s Ayurvedic heritage, Guru’s blessings, humanitarian service, and the global recognition of ancient Indian medical wisdom.
